i and my husband began looking for a vintage airstream in november, 2007.
why, one may ask?
the aesthetic appeal of airstreams is obvious, as we have a love for all things vintage.
we have a desire to travel.
in addition, we would like to cut back; living in a two bedroom house with a number of expenses and excess space encouraged us to spend and consume beyond what is necessary for a young couple. the idea of an airstream held more charm for us than any apartment we might rent as an alternative to a house.
we began saving our money and in early february, 2008 we purchased a fairly dilapidated 31 foot 1974 airstream sovereign.
with the help of my jack-of-all-trades father, we plan to refurbish our new baby to glorious new splendor.
so the story begins.
